Adult Services

We strive to fill the educational, recreational, and informational needs of our patrons in a timely and helpful manner.  Among those services provided from the adult services department are the following:

  • Ask a Librarian—library reference staff is available to answer your reference questions, guide you to informational resources, and locate or recommend a good book.

  • Book Clubs—our book club meets once a month at the main branch.  Make sure you reserve your copy in advance!

  • Computer Instructions—have a question about using the computer, using our online databases, ordering books from the catalog or setting up an email account?  We offer one-on-one instructions tailored to your needs.  Call to make an appointment!

  • Know-It-Now—when we are not open, you can still contact a librarian that will help you with your questions through the Know-It-Now service at www.knowitnow.org.  It’s simple to log-in any time of the day (or night!).

  • Homebound Delivery—if you can’t visit the library, we’ll come visit you!  We deliver materials twice a month right to your door.  Call the adult services department for more information about this service.

  • Outreach Services—we are out in the community if you can’t come to us!  Librarians regularly visit the Helen S. Brown Senior Center and Forest Hill Terrace to maintain lending libraries there as well as to provide computer instructions.
